PACKING LIST GENERAL

USEFUL THINGS IN ADDITION TO YOUR PERSONAL ITEMS

CLOTHES

Of course, the clothes you want to take with you on holiday.

  • Warm jacket + long trousers - it can get quite chilly from time to time, especially when the wind is whistling!
  • Poncho - if you come out of the water and want to spend some time at the spot, the poncho will keep you warm and protect you from the sun. You don't have a poncho yet. Then check out the ponchos from Chiona!
  • Bath towel - of course, this must not be missing!
  • Sturdy shoes and flip-flops
  • Sunglasses for the water, which can also get lost and one that you can wear during the day. Find a pair of trendy sunglasses here.
  • Drybag - protect your mobile phone, camera and clothes from sand and moisture. DryBags from Mysticare available in our online shop.
  • Thermos flask - for delicious tea or to keep drinks cool

CULTURE BAG

  • Spray-on plaster for minor wounds - Germolene New Skin has worked well for us
  • Betandine (liquid) kills bacteria and viruses - suitable for smaller wounds etc.
  • Tweezers, in case you had an encounter with the sea urchin. If you still have spines in your skin, you can treat them with vinegar, which will dissolve the spines. Unfortunately, neoprene shoes do not always protect you from sea urchins or certain shells.
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Sun cream, if possible always use a sun cream that doesn't pollute the oceans as much. Find reef-friendly skincare here.
  • Waterproof tape to tape off an open wound - so it doesn't come off all the time when kiting.
  • Traumeel or similar ointments for muscle relaxation - sore muscles are inevitable when kiting.
  • Your medication and of course things like toothbrush, toothpaste etc.

ELECTRONICS

  • Smartphone (laptop, tablet)
  • Books or e-readers, if you are not too tired from all the kiting.
  • Camera and GoPro, of course don't forget the mounts like selfie stick, adhesive pads, mouth mount or the attachment for the leashes.
  • If you go snorkelling, colour filters for the GoPro lens are perfect for brightening up the colours of the corals and fish!
  • Headphones, nothing is more annoying than not being able to listen to music on the plane.
  • Powerbank, not particularly interesting during the holiday, as at best you're kiting all day. But always handy for travelling to and from the airport, because nowadays everything is done via mobile phone (e.g. boarding passes).
  • Charging cable (mobile phone, laptop, GoPro, camera, powerbank)
  • Socket adapters. If you are technically fully equipped, a multiple socket is an advantage. Then you don't have to buy five adapters and lug them around.

PACKING LIST KITEBAG

EVERYTHING WE WOULD PACK IN OUR KITEBAG

Please note the sports baggage regulations of the respective airline, as baggage regulations vary between airlines.

  • Kites (find out about the wind and whether a few knots can be added due to thermals).
  • Kiteboard (twintip, waveboard, kitefoil)
  • Bar
  • Harness, Leash
  • Pump
  • Repair kit
  • Neoprene/Shorty/Lycra. Not the right thing in your wardrobe? Maybe you'll find it here.
  • Neoprene shoes (we have created a table below where neoprene shoes should be worn everywhere). Check out the neoprene shoes by Mystic
  • Tools (screwdriver for fastening the binding, fins) -> best to stick them to the board in a bag, then they can't fall out somewhere.
  • Neoprene glue
  • Bag to transport the wet wetsuit from A to B.
  • -> Golf bags have many advantages, as certain airlines allow golf luggage to be taken along free of charge. It would also be useful to have a suitcase scale to be on the safe side on the return flight.

ADDITIONAL

  • Copy of your travel documents (in the Dropbox, if available)
  • Kite equipment insurance, if you don't have your own equipment and rent it from the kite school, insurance can make your holiday a little more relaxed.
