The winter season in Sri Lanka comes to an end in mid-March. This is the last chance to really enjoy the north-easterly winds. In April it starts to turn and is either intermittent or non-existent on the west coast. It almost seems as if nature needs a little break to come back with good wind and bright sunshine at the beginning of the "high season" in May.
