Rhodes: Kitesurfing & Greek island flair in Theologos
Our new kitesurfing destination for summer 2026 is located on Rhodes, more precisely in Theologos, a quiet coastal village on the west side of the island that combines long beaches, constant wind and relaxed island life. Right by the sea, you can experience the typical KiteWorldWide feeling – shared sessions on the water, conversations in the shade after kiting and sundowners with a view of the horizon.
Rhodes is a versatile island for a kitesurfing holiday in Greece. Around Theologos, beginners, intermediate and advanced kitesurfers will find excellent conditions, with the season lasting from May to October. Sunny weather, reliable wind and short distances make this spot ideal for enjoying time on the water and relaxing away from it.
The destination is suitable for both kiters and travellers with non-kitesurfing companions. The wide beach is perfect for swimming, relaxing and watching, while the centre offers windsurfing and wing foiling in addition to kitesurfing. As in all KiteWorldWide destinations, a German-speaking KiteWorldWide guide will accompany you with local tips and organise alternative activities on windless days.
- Community feeling from day one
- Perfect for kite surfing, relaxation and adventure
- Greek hospitality and delicious food
- Only 10 minutes from the airport
- The wind direction is mostly side-onshore.
Nikolas, Kitecenter Manager
‘The constant wind, the short distances and the relaxed atmosphere in Theologos make Rhodes special for me. Whether kitesurfing or wing foiling – being able to get out on the water right outside the door is just perfect. And after a long day, I look forward to enjoying the sunset together and relaxing as the evening draws to a close.’Kitesurfing spot & kitesurfing school
Kitesurfing spot
There is one central kitesurfing spot on Rhodes – and it's right on our doorstep. The spot in Theologos is located directly in front of the kite school and offers short distances, uncomplicated procedures and maximum time on the water. The constant winds on the west coast provide reliable conditions that are suitable for beginners as well as intermediate and advanced kitesurfers. The open location by the sea creates plenty of space on the water, while the wide beach offers enough room for launching, landing and relaxing.
Kitesurfing school
The IKO-certified kitesurfing school is located directly on the beach at Theologos, only about five minutes from the hotel. Lessons are taught in a relaxed atmosphere with a clear focus on safety, individual learning and time on the water. Thanks to its close proximity to the spot, each session begins without transfers or detours – arrive, set up, kitesurf.
Kite course & equipment
Kite lessons are either semi-private or private, tailored to each individual's skill level. High-quality equipment from Cabrinha and Naish. Cabrinha kites are used, combined with Naish foils for kite foiling and wing foiling, complemented by a selection of boards and harnesses for beginners to advanced riders.

KiteWorldWide Accommodation
The Sabina Hotel is a quiet, family-run hotel with a relaxed atmosphere – a place to arrive and unwind. Surrounded by greenery, it offers the perfect setting for a relaxing kitesurfing holiday, whether you are travelling as a couple, with your family or alone. The compact complex has a cosy lobby, a bar, a TV room, a games room, an internet area, a small mini-market and a beautiful terrace. The community comes together at the KiteWorldWide communal table: at breakfast, you can discuss the day, the wind conditions and possible activities with the guide, share experiences and start the day in a relaxed manner – without a fixed plan, but always with good conversation.
Start your day with a complimentary breakfast in the hotel restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional regional products, among other things. This is where the KiteWorldWide community meets in the morning to discuss the day, wind conditions and possible sessions with the guide. In the evening, you have the opportunity to discover various local restaurants in the area together with the guide – completely relaxed and voluntary. At the hotel bar, you can end the day with a drink overlooking the pool, ideal after a long day on the water.
Theologos village – just go with the flow
Right on your doorstep, it's worth taking a stroll through the old village centre of Theologos. Narrow streets, traditional houses and, in between, a taverna where time passes a little more slowly. Perfect for a quiet evening or a coffee after kitesurfing.
Butterfly Valley (Petaloudes) – a break in nature
Only about 20 minutes away is Butterfly Valley, a green, shady place that offers a welcome change from the sun, especially in summer. Wooden walkways, small streams and – depending on the season – thousands of butterflies make this a particularly relaxing excursion.
Rhodes Old Town – History & Alleys
If you're in the mood for a bit of hustle and bustle, the old town of Rhodes City is a real highlight. Medieval walls, winding alleys, small shops and lots of cafés – ideal for half a day or a whole day. A visit in the late afternoon or evening is particularly nice.
Filerimos & Ialyssos – views with a short drive
Nearby is the hill of Filerimos near Ialyssos. From the top, you have a wide view of the west coast, plus ancient ruins, peacocks and plenty of peace and quiet. A lovely short trip, especially at sunset.
Discover the west coast – beaches & sunset
The west coast around Theologos is perfect for short discovery tours. Wide, natural beaches, little hustle and bustle and often spectacular sunsets. Ideal for a walk, a sundowner or to switch off.
