If you or your non-kiting companion wants to do something other than kitesurfing then you can still stay active as El Gouna offers a lot of variety:
WAKEBOARDING
El Gouna’s wakeboard park will pull you over the water at high speed or you can fly through the air to practice new tricks. Sliders Cable Park has two large wakeboard facilities with one that rotates clockwise, and the other counter-clockwise so the experienced can try out new moves on the course. The park is also great for beginners as its small two-mast facility allows you to master your wakeboarding skills gently.
DIVING
El Gouna allows you to stay in your water element by diving into its depths, best experienced between June to September. There are many local dive spots including Bluff Point which has a crazy steep wall covered with large fan corals, and the caves are also really exciting. The wreck named Rosalie Moller comes recommended as a dive where you can explore the well preserved sunken ship complete with its intact bridge and engine room. East of El Gouna is Sha’ab El Erg, where you can also explore a beautiful coral garden.
The underwater views are best in the morning and with a bit of luck, you may even meet dolphins, crocodile fish, blue spotted rays, reef sharks and manta rays.
ROUND TRIPS
If you want to stay on land and explore the area, we recommend a desert safari by quad or camel, as well as a trip to Luxor or Cairo.General information
