Information
The Makani Beach Club was completely rebuilt in 2018. Old shipping containers formed the basis, most of which disappear behind a façade of bamboo and roofs made of straw.
Christoph built the centre. He is an absolute professional and an old hand in the hotel business in Egypt. The building materials and furnishings are of the finest quality. The same goes for the kitchen concept and the service level of all the staff.
Marcel and Daniel from Primesurf are Christoph's partners and are responsible for kitesurfing instruction and supervision. This ensures that the kite school runs at the best possible level.
The kite school is equipped with the latest material from Duotone Kiteboarding. Should you participate in a Kitecamp, you will also have the opportunity to test other equipment, such as that from CORE Kiteboarding.
The wind blows constantly from the left: sideshore. The water is shallow over a wide area. The bottom is sandy, without corals. No matter what the tide is, you can always kite here, no matter if it's high or low tide. A huge advantage over many other kitesurf centres in El Gouna.
The wind statistics are very good. You can kite on over 70% of the days. If you have the opportunity, it is best to fly to El Gouna for at least ten days to kitesurf. The wind sometimes comes in cycles. A few weeks of wind and then a few days off.
At the Makani Beach Club, you'll always be up to date with a current tide plan and information from Windguru.
Even if you don't want to get off your board, you should take a break to recharge your batteries. Join other kiters at the Makani Beach Bar. Exchange ideas and make new friends. If you want some peace and quiet, there are plenty of sun loungers with beach umbrellas and windbreaks for a siesta after your kitesurf session and lunch.
Tip: The bar serves great smoothies. Definitely try the Banana Rebel. With a vitamin drink in hand, you can sit on the beach lounger and gaze into the distance. You don't want more sea than that! Of course, the Acai Smoothie Bowl is a must. Delicious and healthy.
Even if you get hungry on land, you'll be spoilt with delicious off-menu specialities at the Makani Beach Club. You can also go for pasta, burgers or salads.
