On the beautiful, wide sandy beach of Mastichari on the island of Kos sits the professional VDWS kite school run by Stefan under German management. Here they’ve developed a unique and particularly safe training system that combines pro boat coaching with semi-private lessons in small groups of max two students. This ensures maximum progress and fun!

The quiet village offers numerous small tavernas, typical restaurants, and very welcoming locals. Some places stick with you instantly. Theologos on Rhodes is one of them. The Meltemi blows reliably side-onshore from May to October – often light in the morning, then steady 15–25 knots from midday. Beginners, improvers, and advanced riders all get their money’s worth – and if you want a change, try wingfoiling or windsurfing on site.

Practically on your doorstep, Fehmarn is the ideal choice if you want to skip flying and kite in home waters.
