Kos is a beautiful island for your kitesurf holiday in Greece. Especially in Mastichari and Marmari you’ll find excellent conditions for beginners, improvers and advanced riders. The season runs from May to the end of October, and the warm, sunny weather gives you perfect conditions for kitesurfing, relaxing, and enjoying delicious food in traditional Greek tavernas.
This Greek island is perfect if you’re traveling with family, kids, or non-kiting companions. On the wide sandy beach right next to the kite spot you can swim, relax, and watch the kiters. The center also offers windsurfing, wingfoil and stand-up paddle courses for the whole family. As with all KiteWorldWide destinations, a German-speaking KiteWorldWide guide is on hand with local tips and organizes alternative activities on no-wind days.

When the wind blows from the northwest and the offshore island shields Mastichari from the wind, we drive our mobile kite station just 20 minutes to the northwest coast of Kos to Marmari. Thanks to its geographical position, the Meltemi in Marmari is further accelerated by a venturi effect with the offshore islands and arrives onshore at the spot. Here you’ll get an optimal combo for your kite holiday in Greece, kitesurfing & Greek island vibes in Mastichari!

The VDWS-licensed school run by Stefan and Joe is just 5 minutes from the KiteWorldWide house. The professional coaching team teaches in German and English and offers the option to obtain a VDWS kite license after the course. Advanced riders can refine their skills and reach the next VDWS level.
Wingfoiling and windsurfing: besides kitesurfing, Kos also offers perfect conditions for wingfoiling and windsurfing. Whether you’re just starting out or already confident on the water – with our wide selection of wing and windsurf gear you’re perfectly equipped for any level and wind strength.
Lessons & equipment
Stefan and his team teach in small groups of max two students per instructor for maximum safety. With boat-supported coaching you’ll progress quickly and have tons of fun. The upwind taxi brings you out in onshore winds so you can focus fully on practicing without worrying about losing ground.
The school is equipped with current Cabrinha kites and SU2 boards.

Mastichari is a quiet Greek fishing village with charming small accommodations, a welcome alternative to the island’s large resorts. Here you’ll find our KiteWorldWide house, a cozy stay with eight studios just a short walk from the kite spot. Every studio is air-conditioned and has a balcony or terrace plus a small kitchenette. The shared terrace invites relaxed evenings after an exciting day on the water.
For families or groups needing more space, we offer the Elia Mare Apartment. This modern two-bedroom apartment is just 200 m from the kite school.
Looking for a private retreat? The Tamaris Villa, also in Mastichari and about 650 m from the kite school, offers peace and space for up to six people. With its own garden, BBQ area, and large outdoor pool, it’s ideal for unwinding. The Apartment “Home” for up to four people is also a great option with free private parking.

A typical kite day starts relaxed with breakfast at the Aplo Bar right by the spot. Depending on wind, kiters meet in the late morning and again in the afternoon for water sessions. In between there’s time to relax, chat, or hit the beach. The day is flexible and wind-dependent, focused on max time on the water. During no-wind periods, our travel team plans excursions you can join.
Yes, wingfoiling is also possible on Kos. The consistent winds and mostly flat-water areas create great conditions for beginners. Many kiters use Kos to try wingfoiling as well or to combine both sports.
From June to September, Kos is popular yet calmer than classic hotspots. With several spots like Mastichari and Marmari, riders spread out well, so there’s usually plenty of space on the water.
