Work remotely and kitesurf in Sicily
Who doesn’t need a break now and then—a new setting or a little adventure—if it weren’t for work… It’s actually easy to combine both. Imagine sneaking in a quick kite session before, after, or between meetings! You’re at the kite spot, working remotely while recharging your batteries!
Summary
Arrival
Workaway in SicilyA few weeks ago my colleague Kiki and my teammates Daniel and Philipp flew to Sicily. Our goal was to discover new highlights for you in Sicily and to test whether working remotely from sunny Italy works well.
There are various flights to nearby Trapani Airport, or you can fly via Palermo. You’ll be picked up at the airport and on the one-hour drive you’ll already see how beautiful Sicily is. You pass many vineyards—Sicily is known as one of Italy’s top wine regions. Like the grapes, we love the many hours of sunshine in the dry, warm summers. You feel the same, right?
Besides vineyards you’ll pass fields full of olive, orange, and lemon trees—pretty impressive what grows here and how incredibly good it all tastes, as we’ll find out over the next few days.
KiteWorldWide Villa Lo Stagnone
Workaway in Sicily
Speaking of lemon trees… there’s one in the garden of the KiteWorldWide Villa. We spotted it on arrival, and it turned out to be a perfect place to work!
The internet is strong and stable and who knows—maybe under the lemons, in the sun, with a glass of Sicilian wine, you’ll have your best, most productive ideas.
It definitely convinced one of our guests, who called us with a few questions and then booked a studio in the KiteWorldWide Villa on the spot—and is now enjoying a kite holiday on the Marsala lagoon.
La Dolce Vita Sicily
Workaway in SicilyBesides kiting and working, Italy truly excels at one thing: amazing food and delicious drinks. I don’t need to tell you how fantastic the pizza or pasta is, but promise me you’ll also try bruschetta, burrata, cannoli, and croissants filled with pistachio cream! Mamma mia! During your daily kite sessions on the Lo Stagnone lagoon you can immediately work off those tasty happy moments!
Kitesurfing on the lagoon
Workaway in SicilyAwaiting you is a truly huge lagoon with shallow water everywhere. The wind is a bit lighter in the morning but picks up after lunch and can reach about 20–25 knots, so you can enjoy top sessions right up to sunset.
We’re all about la dolce vita in Italy, and I can only recommend moving your home office under the lemon tree! Kiting and working remote? It works great here—give it a try!
